Agricultural and Rural Crafts Demonstrations and Exhibits
Agriculture is a key part of our lives in East Anglia. Learn
more about our local past and take advantage of the services on offer for today
and the future. This year will have many working demonstrations across the Fair.
This is a growing area of interest at the Fair so we hope to
expand it over the coming years to address the needs and interest of many
visitors to Heveningham.

For a taste of farming life as it used to be make sure you catch Dave Chapman and his team, who will be on hand to talk about their equipment and the techniques once used across East Anglia. An area of the estate has been set aside especially for the display.

Thatching demonstration |

In the stable area at the back of the house in the stable area you will see a demonstration of thatching from one of Suffolk’s local thatcher. The thatching demo is being done by Jonathon Cousins, Master thatcher, of Hulvertree Farm,Laxfield.He will be doing live demonstration during day.

Smyth Drill |

The famous suffolk seed lever drill, invented in 1800 by James Smyth of Peasenhall, that revoultionaised 19th century farming will be on show.
