Spitfire
Displays

With only 70 or so Spitfires still flying in the world today from an original 22,000, incredibly these two highly original aeroplanes, MH434 and MH415, came off the Supermarine production line at Castle Bromwich (now the Jaguar car plant) in the same week in August 1943.

They then joined the same RAF Squadron, went into battle together, and post war had a uniquely twinned history through service with both the Dutch and Belgians before ultimately parting company after participating in the 1969 film ‘The Battle Of Britain’.

At that point MH434 was sold to Sir Adrian Swire and ultimately into the care of the former Red Arrows leader, Ray Hanna while MH415 went to Connie Edwards in Texas. Having parted company they were not seen with each other again until post MH 415’s recent restoration in Australia, when it then returned to England last year.

They will be flying together again at Heveningham Hall (one of only two such opportunities this year) over the weekend of 8th and 9th  July.
