Displays and Exhibits:
Hobbies and Pastimes

The Fair wouldn't be complete without the enormous collection of stalls, sideshows, exhibits, displays and activities that we've become famous for. Every year, the range of hobbies, interests, arts and crafts gets broader so visit us in 2008 for the best yet!

Also, please remember that if you have an unusual hobby or interest, you can apply to join us at the Fair to exhibit or demonstrate. Please see the trading section of the website by clicking here.

Model Aeroplanes

With a static display and flying throughout the day, the model aeroplanes are a fascinating and impressive sight for aviation and model making enthusiasts alike.

Be sure to visit the stand on the eastern edge of the main lawn, and keep your eyes peeled overhead too!

Cratfield Art Club

One of the pleasures afforded by a visit to the Fair, is the opportunity to wander in the grounds of this magnificent mansion. Among the attractions to be found in the Walled Garden at the rear of the main building, is an exhibition of paintings by artists working in the six villages. Pet portraits, small nudes, wide landscapes and even some abstracts in a variety of styles and media, including oils, watercolor, acrylic and pastels. Most of the pictures are for sale and a proportion of the proceeds will go to the charity the Fair supports. This could be a chance to pick up a mini-masterpiece at a knock down price, so remember to take your cheque book with you just in case. As Capability Brown several times remarked to Mr. Vannek "There is none so fair a vista as the sight of a banker's draft!"
