The Country Fair Trust
The Heveningham Hall Country Fair was first held in 1996. It has grown into a full day of events and activities attracting thousands of visitors and is a joint effort between the villages of Cookley, Cratfield, Heveningham, Huntingfield, Laxfield and Walpole. We also hold a very popular bonfire and fireworks display each year in November.
ALL the proceeds from both these events go directly into a charitable trust which has been set up to ensure that the funds raised benefit the local community as effectively as possible. However it is due to the support of the public and the tireless help from our volunteers that makes this possible.
Our charitable remit has expanded to allow us to support many diverse causes within the community and also to allow us to support organisations that may not lie within our geographical remit but which directly benefit our community.
Over the years we have been able to distribute in excess of £250,000. Some of this has gone to the improvement and installation of facilities at our local churches. This is not just for the sake of the churches themselves but also to ensure that these buildings are able to work and play a greater role within the community. Local projects including village halls have also received funding, again helping them to play a much needed role within the community. Essential funding has been given to Laxfield and Bramfield Schools and behind the scenes we continue to fund many individual cases of hardship and need within the community.
We are extremely grateful for your support and hope that you thoroughly enjoy the Fair.
